Yeah, SSI is 5.5 years old (del 29 Sep 2015), while SMA is 5.2 years old (26 Feb 2016).

Now re-registered OE-ITB. Return to lessor with no onward operator.

Yet to leave SIN I think.

An update: She left SIN two days ago (29th April 2021) to Victorville desert via Anchorage to her owner BBAM Aircraft Leasing.

What a pity her tenure with SQ was cut short by the pandemic, based on record her last flight was from DPS back in 13 March 2020, SQ 939 landed on same day 14:21. Being 6 years old, most definitely will find a new home after the pandemic is over.

I thought these were planned to be phased out anyway? Most had gone before the COVID 19 breakout.

Yes, SSF was part of the last 15 in the second batch of A333. It wasn't planned for phase out until 2021 at least once initial lease expires and they are given option to extend the lease. Well, COVID19 just shorten by a year.

It's 2021 now so they haven't been cut short? They have seen through their agreed lease period.

                  • Will miss the A333, travelling to india mostly as a solo traveller, the 2-4-2 config was so good. With just 1 beside me. Now it will be back to the 3-3-3 config and getting out will be much harder than before.

                    • SmartLynx in Malta are set to receive former SQ A330’s. They will be flown without seats in order to carry cargo.

I think I prefer her like this. Any in agreement?

                              • Still remember when SIA launched A330 as a brand new service plying SIN-SUB back in 2013. Better flight times than China Airlines' SIN-SUB (also A330).

But eventually I grew tired having to wake up 0500 to catch the 0750 flight. Was hoping the SIA B737s will eventually replace the evening MI flight. But Covid.

Now a B777 plies SIN-SUB as a cargo flight (most likely picking up Greenfields milk), and unknown what aircraft will eventually ply when eventually things go normal.

                                I am hoping a A350.
