I was told by the SQ sales office in HK today, that the fare increase will only apply for tickets issued after November 10th.. HKG-SIN-HKG RT fares increase by HK$1000 in F and J... For star alliance products, segment surcharge for the 77w flights will be US$300 for F and US$150 for J...

hmm.. wonder why the difference from what manflyer posted...

I curious about those who have corporate contracts. Will those change as well? Or do they insist on the original pricing?

I am currently booked on SQ 1 HKG-SIN Y-class on 18th Dec if I were to change it to SQ 861, would there be any surcharge and if so how much? Definitely not the same US$150 as J class right??

Only 'Business Class' is indicated so I don't think the surcharge applies for Economy or First.

No surcharge. But definitely you should try the new plane if you have a chance... SQ1 HKG-SIN is too early morning for me.

I'm coming in from SFO on SQ 1 that's why. So SQ 861 might mean a long wait in HKG, but it might be worth it to try the new plane. OTOH I will be going to CDG in January or March on J and I believe that would be a better experience, so we'll see.

Glad to hear that you have plan for CDG early next year... The surcharge will apply though, since you are in J, and not ticketed last week, presumably.

Looking at my golden bird schedules for the next two months, looks like I really picked the wrong flights for a shot at the new F class.

                      11NOV06 SQ286 AKL-SIN 1500/2015
                      11NOV06 SQ322 SIN-LHR 2320/0525+1
                      17NOV06 SQ319 LHR-SIN 1815/1455+1
                      18NOV06 SQ285 SIN-AKL 2100/1145+1

                      27NOV06 SQ222 SYD-SIN 1655/2155
                      28NOV06 SQ866 SIN-HKG 1330/1715

                      Aeroplan F Award Tix:
                      09DEC06 SQ1 HKG-SIN 0800/1150
                      09DEC06 SQ320 SIN-LHR 1240/1845
                      14DEC06 SQ321 LHR-SIN 2215/1855+1
                      16DEC06 SQ2 SIN-HKG 1700/2045

                      Krisflyer Mileage Raffles->F Upgrade:
                      26DEC06 SQ865 HKG-SIN 1830/2220
                      26DEC06 SQ346 SIN-ZRH 2355/0610+1
                      30DEC06 SQ345 ZRH-SIN 1215/0705+1
                      31DEC06 SQ860 SIN-HKG 0830/1215

But again CDG is nowhere in the plans anytime soon so quite difficult to pick the exact routings.

Anyone knows the logic behind why there is a surcharge for J but not F and Y??

The only reason I can think of is that there is such a big difference bewteen the new and old RAFFLES (bugger off shortfinals... ) that they think it's justified, whereas the Y and F ain't that different. Y pitch is similar and F is a glorified SkySuite.
