Weird that SQ9403 is indicated as 787-10. No rescue flight to ferry the pax ?

    • 9V-SKM have departed Delhi earlier as SQ403D. ETA 0325am

It seem like SQ wanted to mount a rescue flight using 787-10 but guess the plan was cancelled (thus the status in SQ app n FR24 both show SQ9403 as cancelled n aircraft is 787)

9V-SKM is now performing an SQ403-17: departed DEL @ 1954 local (which would amount to 2 hours, 10 minutes early against the std for a "normal" 403).

and SQ26|17JUN (SIN-FRA-JFK) is re-timed to depart at 0545 as they are waiting to use 9V-SKM.
Singapore Airlines - A great way to fly...

The flight ended up departing at 07:38 according to FR24. That’s a long turnaround.

                • It seems like more and more SQ flights from Europe are taking a northerly route over Russia before turning south towards China and Southeast Asia. Both SQ319 And SQ321 are currently on this path as did SQ323 and SQ351 earlier.

It could be due to the current tensions around the gulf region between Iran and the US?

Seems more likely winds or ATC. Except for SQ361 (ex-DME) and SQ351 (ex CPH), everything ex-Europe this past afternoon is back to transiting Persia.

And the whole of tonight's westward bank -- also LH, BA, SR, AY, AF -- is routing via the Gulf...as did all previous westward flights.

Very, very unusual for flights ex-LHR to southeast Asia to route via Siberia: adds considerable flight time (45 -- 50 minutes delay).

On MAN-SIN a few days ago, we flew via the Gulf to avoid Pakistan and one other airspace (Iran?)

The delay was not insignificant - we arrived 90 minutes later than scheduled due to the detour. A routing via Siberia, if it's "only" 45-50 minutes delay, would have been preferable!

Link to news article on CNA: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news...-iran-11648304

SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) is among some global airlines that are rerouting flights to avoid Iran-controlled airspace over the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman, it said on Friday (Jun 21), after the US aviation regulator barred its carriers from the area until further notice.

                              • Bunch of delays at Changi right now. A lot of 6-7pm flights are delay.
                                SQ2
                                SQ948
                                SQ966
                                SQ530
                                SQ978
                                SQ118
                                SQ424
Plus lots of other airlines flight as well. Think it is due to the heavy rain earlier.
