OK, ok, not the picture in question but here is a picture of BA Pilots on my first special trip on a BA European route.

I don't believe it ...... I (pax 2F) just got off (7 Aug 07) from a 77W TPE-SIN (9V-SWI) and requested a picture from the cockpit with the flight crew after landing (considering the new security precaution inflight) . After the rest of the pax disembarked, I met the Captain and he told me it is not allowed under the new security regulation. Drats...... It was my first SQ F on the 77W and I thought I wanted to capture some memory.

          Can anyone confirm this?

Hey, the aircraft was at the stand it was not as if I would do something. Hey, this completely sucks from a loyal fan of SQ (SQFAN) (who goes out of his way to fly SQ the wrong way round the world from LHR-YVR so that he can utilise more SQ flights) as well a humble PPS pax. [I promised that I was not a PITA in flight - never have been]

There's always Microsoft Flight simulator for would-be terrorist.!!! I hear the avionics control panels are pretty accurate.

SQfan, so did you actually get to meet the Captain in the flight deck? Oh dear. I was still hoping to capture some photos on the 77W with the Capt. when I fly back to SIN in Nov!

I've never shown my request to the air stewardess for bringing me to visit the cockpit before.

But I've an experience of asking for the permission to visit the cart lift at the first galley inside the B747 400.

The time that I was traveled with China Airlines(CI), from Bangkok to Hongkong. After a very plentiful meal, I've asked the beautiful air stewardess,

I said, 'Miss, I am an aircraft lover, and I know that there is a lift which helps to deliver the cart to the upper deck, I would like to take a photo of that magical device, may you take me to the galley please?"

Then, she told me to wait for a while, because she needed to ask for the approval from the supervisor. After a few minutes, she returned and said,
"If you really want to take a photo, OK, no problem, follow me! But you should only take your camera and wear off your belongings."

Afterwards, I followed her and have taken a photo. that's why I love CI so much. Efficient and quick service.

Has anyone ever taken a photo of that particular lift in any B747 or L1011s?

Apparently there is a written rule from SQ that cockpit is off limits to passenger photography (on the ground or in the air).
Seems like what they are doing is enforcing the rule strictly accross the board to all pax these days.

Yes I agree with you StarG.

Safety and security rules should be abided to.

I rest in the comfort that they practise it across all PAX; FCL or YCL. PITAs or not.
Terrorists come in all shapes and sizes (as we have seen)
So we should not get too personal here when rules are abided to.

I play FLIGHT SIM....and NO! the panels, switches and equipments are NO match for the real thing.

I once sat in Raffles class on the A345 from Lax to Sin. The seat next to me was reserved for the crew. I had a chat with the captain and asked if i could see the cockpit. He allowed me to sit there till landing in Sin. unfortunally. I had no camera.
