Has BLR ever been served by the 77W before?
When when? I am on coming Monday’s flight and returning on 3 June. Still on the depressing old 772 as per the seat map.

No. It’s always served by lousy products in absence of competent competitors. The flights are always sold out. And it’s punishing on the red eye return.

I have always been preferring to avoid returning from there.

No this was what I observed on iCargo and FR24, sometimes SQ502/503 just get a plain 773, but most of the time it is a 772. I was a little suprised it was served by the 77W on Friday. No other day seems to be the case, yet. Usually DEL and BOM get much better treatment on cabin products usually.

According to FR24, it may just rotate between the regular 773 and 772. I wish it was.

EDIT: SQ502/503 have gotten SWT, a 77W instead of the regular old 772 or 773 on May 23rd

      • The 787 trade for 772s and A330s was expected and represents what we've always known would happen, but I find most interesting the fleet growth of 10.

7 of those 10 are the new A50 ULRs, which again, we've always known about. But what it does give some indication of, is that there is less likelihood that those new ULR direct flights will outright replace current ones. Does anyone else see this as a signal of a capacity increase to the US?

        • After SQ638/637 has switched from the 77W to the 78J, there have been different rotations with the last 3 remaining 77W. It's usually being substituted in places that are usually operated with the 773 (and some cases, 772 routes), namely MNL, BOM (426/425) of course.

Also, looking way into the future, at the end of the Northern Summer schedule, PEK (800/805) will switch to the 772 from the current 3-class 77W, though that is subject to change.

          • SQ502/503 to BLR will be served by SWT again tonight. I wonder if this is cause of a shortage of 772 and 773.

            • Three of the B773s are actually out of service - SYJ has been out for over two months now, and SYH and SYI have been out of service for a couple of days leaving both SYF and SYL to hold the fort. I'm guessing that might have been why SWI has been pressed back into service despite the fact that it should probably have gone in for its transformation.

No wonder. I've noticed the redeye China flights have been subbed to a 77WR (826/827) though it has also gotten a 772 on a few occasions. In spite of this, normally BLR gets a 772 or a 773, it is only til now it is getting a 77W, which I guess is a step up better.

                Today it got SWT again.

I wonder is SYJ will undergo a retrofit to the 2006 cabin products given its 2 month absence. Let's wait and see.

No wonder why SQ910/917, has had almost consistent 77W services (with a few selected visits from the 772). But it's refreshing to see that today's SQ912/919 used an A330 but SQ921 got a slight downgrade (it normally sees the 773).

Yes, on the other hand, SYI has returned to service doing BLR. Right now we can't say what will happen to the remaining unrefitted 77W yet. Correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like a shortage occurring with the 777 fleet

There is quite a bit of slack with the 777-200ER.

Indeed. In the past week or so, 9V-SVC and 9V-SVN operated to/from BWN as SQ182/181.

Probably it's the 773's hence why SWI has been back in service doing different routes
