Well, I guess Traitor Air is only following the trend but the changes

    http://www.asiamiles.com/en/about/ne...140825,00.html

don't make me happy. Their fares to SIN are already higher than SQ's. Now the fare classes that are upgradeable have been restricted. The only consolation seems to be that the miles required for an upgrade have not been dramatically increased, the way, say, KF jacked up the requirements for the 77W redemptions.

Oh well. I was always an SQ flyer at heart anyway. Time to re-evaluate my options.

I wonder who on earth will buy up to YBH on BA just to upgrade to WTP when you can buy T itself for much cheaper...

Hmm - no info about WTP to CW.

Which is why my BA miles suddenly became more valuable. Negative revision to a good programme, in my opinion.

"Sehr" is an adverb not an adjective.

Too bad you're unable to sympathize with others' disappointment.

                My sympathy for your again-revaluation-of-FFP.

(as in the progrAAm, not the AAirline)

Yeah, until Savage25 decides to join it!

(Savage25, did you recently sign up for MPC / Asia Miles ??? )

Not too sure about the "better" of AAdvantage comparison to BA. Seems like if you don't fly AA domestics US heavily, the benefits would not be much. I like the possibility of one-way award on BA EC.

No sir....I joined a long long time ago and have a grand total of 150 Asiamiles in my account. You can't blame this one on me.

You can also do one way awards on AAdvantage but they are oneworld awards and have to involve 2 airlines other than AA. They are awesome value and are based on distance between stopover points not actual distance flown, eg if I go Darwin-Tokyo via MEL and HKG, it's counted as DRW-NRT.

And they don't charge any fuel fines on awards unlike QF and BA. This can work out to a saving of at least $400 on a MEL-LHR return, more if you switch flights at SIN/HKG/BKK.

Plus you get EVIPs at EXP status which are worth a lot more than just the upgrades themselves...
