Each night, they only have a 5-hour window to do maintenance. According to Wiki, there's a total of 138km of tracks in Singapore. There are a couple of things they need to do - inspection, planned maintenance and rectification. I don't know how much resources SMRT or SBS Transit puts into their engineering crew to do what they need to do - from the results we have observed last week, it doesn't seem to be sufficient.
Problems is they are not even looking at it. So many of them fall off and no one notice it. Hard to believe !

      She finally calls it quits

SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Hwa resigns, interim CEO appointed

SMRT Corporation president and chief executive officer Saw Phaik Hwa has resigned, less than a month after the MRT system suffered two of the worst breakdowns in its 24-year-history.

In a statement, the board of directors said it has accepted her offer of resignation. She will conclude her executive responsibilities with effect from Friday.

Ms Saw, 57, will remain with the group to help the relevant investigation teams and the Committee of Inquiry (COI) reviewing the causes of the disruptions on Dec 15 and 17, and help the transition to new executive leadership
