  • Singapore - Paris, London- Singapore on SQ A380 and 77WN

    Greetings

Recently, I flew Singapore Airlines from Singapore to Paris on the A380, returning to Singapore from London on the new 77WN. I will let the pictures do the talking and write a little here and there. My apologies for the quality of the pictures as most were taken with my iPhone 5C.

Arrived at the airport an hour and a half before the 2355 departure to CDG. As usual, Terminal 3 was crowded at that time due to large number of departures and also due to the fact that it was the school holiday month(June) in Singapore.

Check-in agent remarked that the flight was 98% full

    Gate A4 today

    9V-SKM operating SQ334 to CDG.

    Settling into my seat, 52A.

I was rather disappointed when i saw this upon arriving at my seat.

I had selected 52A prior to the flight and had no idea it had a misaligned window.

However it was not too bad as compared
to a windowless-window seat as one is able to get a decent view out of the window by leaning slightly back, or front, as
you would see in some of the photos below

If anyone is interested, here is a video of the pre flight announcement by the Captain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmNV5...RB_NtofZMVLmeA

    I chose the pork.

    Time to wake up!

Video of the landing can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBeKA...RB_NtofZMVLmeA
In the video, at exactly 0:17 you can hear a loud thud, which was REALLY loud onboard. I highly suspect it is the landing gear locking into place, can anyone shed some light on this?

I was flying SQ319 from London to Singapore which was operated by the company's new 77WN.

        Check-in at LHR T3

        LHR T3 was packed!

ET 787. This was the aircraft(ET-AOP) that caught fire in LHR last year

9V-SWW arriving from SIN as SQ318

Holding area. At this point of time it was around 1950. It was clear that we would be delayed as the cabin/flight crew had not boarded the aircraft yet and boarding was supposed to commence at 1940

This was pretty much the only view outside once inside the gate.

There was a TV screening the FIFA World Cup 2014 inside the holding area

          Soon, we boarded the aircraft.

          My seat, 52K.

Leg space. I'm not tall at all (170cm) so it was entirely sufficient for me.

            Pre flight announcement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEQw6...RB_NtofZMVLmeA

Flight time was 12h10min and the delay was due to the late arrival of the aircraft from Singapore as announced by the pilot.

              Takeoff Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGfdZ...MVLmeA&index=3

Lift off at around 2120LT, 40 minutes behind schedule

SQ offers live TV onboard which was really good as it was the World cup season

The new controller is a really great idea for people like me who like to keep track of the aircraft's current position whilst watching movies

Dinner. I chose the Biryani which was delicious, though a little too spicy.

                Ice Cream

I tried out the inflight Wifi. It was fast and i was able to chat with my friend on whatsapp as well as upload a a few shots on instagram

The Wifi was time based, at a cost of US$11.95 for an hour

Soon, it was time for Lunch. By then, it was around 2pm in SIN which was around 2.5hrs before touchdown.

This was when it got really bumpy, so much so that the pilot came on the PA and to quote him, "this aircraft is fully capable of handling the turbulence".

                  Arrival information.

                  Almost there!

                  Landing video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twrJd...MVLmeA&index=2

We landed in Singapore at 1622, 8 minutes ahead of schedule. Not bad considering we departed almost 40 minutes late.

Excellent trip report! I wish to ride on the new 77WN one day. As for T-mobile's WiFi plans, do they also have plans that last for the entire flight?
