  • Cx holidays: no SQ equivalent

I know a few of you are experienced TA.

I have just discovered website Cx holidays.

Great packages on CX F or J to fabulous hotels in Asia.

Can you tell me why SQ has no equivalent service?

Not enough affluent travelers ex SIN?

Or too focussed on the business traveler?

Maybe now is a good time for them to diversify their income stream...

Is it in any way similar to MH's Golden Holidays?

Yeah, seeing the decisions taken by SQ's management, I have a feeling they are focusing on the Business traveler.

CX Holidays is probably only applicable for residents in HKG, China, and Japan. There are some packages on J (Deluxe), but, not F as far as I know.

Some "value packages" with new 5* hotels (like Park Hyatt Shanghai) to most Asian cities may not be mileage accruable too (the flights + the 2000/3000 bonus Asia Miles usually for Standard/Deluxe packages).

May fly to Hong Kong to get these packages!

I have no access to corporate rates on airlines or hotels.

But these CX packages are just what I need to save $$$.

        J class travel.

In Tokyo, get to stay at all the Hyatts, MO, RC, Peninsula etc

        Wow!

I'd be interested to hear how their service is these days. My friends had the frustrating experiences trying to get in touch with them for a live interaction during their office hours.

One catch....you need to buy a package for at least 2 people, both must be travelling together.

The Deluxe Package to Tokyo with stays at 5* hotels costs at least HK$12,500++ (without tax and surchages) pp, while the First Class package costs HK$23,000++ pp.

It seems that First Class packages with hotel stays at the Peninsula are available for Tokyo and Bangkok.

CX Holidays packages are valid also for the single traveller, the rate is somewhat higher then.

And never, ever try to contact them directly. Let your travel agent handle that.

I was just answering to the title

                    Cx holidays: no SQ equivalent

Anyways, I think they are not in business anymore or are at a very low profile. Their office used to be across the street from mine, but now I see, the TA have been rebranded to Safe2Travel....

I have seen "Asian Affairs Holidays" (with SQ logo) ads in CN Traveler / T+L USA magazines in the past. Maybe that is the SQ equivalent, at least ex-USA?

All SQ packages are available outside of Malaysia/Singapore TO Singapore. For some reason SQ thinks that Singaporeans are either too unsophisticated to appreciate or too snobbish to go on package tours. But yet look at the hoardes of adverts you see everyday on the local newspapers advertising special packages tours and travelling on .... Singapore Airlines !!

SQ has their "Asian Affairs" trade arm but as people have said, is virtually unheard of in Singapore.

Yes it would be good to have something like CX Holidays, MH Golden Holidays and TG's Royal Orchid Holidays.. but until SQ's mindset of "we don't do those kind of packages" goes.. things may remain the way they are.

FYI - CX also has "Discovery Stay-A-While" Free & easy packages which only comprises of transfers, hotels with breakfasts, and the odd city tour for people who only want to take advantages of mini-stopovers.
