  • What travel apps do you use?

Just stumbled upon a ios travel app which I thought gives pretty good info on airports, airlines and specific flights. There is a free version and a paid one - still trying out the former. For the latter, you'll need to pay for the iPhone and iPad versions separately. It integrates with TripIt as well as iCloud calendar ... and to twitter, FB, email, and SMS.

It's called Flight+ and can be found here.

The other flight apps I used are:
    iChangi
    FlightAware
    FlightStats
    Skyscanner
    PFHD
    SQ Mobile
    Navigator - for *A flights
    FareFinder - for *A flights
Plane Finder PFHD - for the hardcore plane tracker

    Anyone with any other suggestions?

I use flightdiary.net to record down all my flights.

I find it slightly more user-friendly and have migrated all my flight records since 2008 there from tripit. It helps that they generate a rather spiffy map and graphs of all your flights as well. I prefer this as I can record down the exact plane registration for the flight - one can't do that in tripit.

The only travel apps on my Android that I actually use:

              XE
              Awardwallet
              Priority Pass
              BA
              SG Buses
              Taxi Booking (Comfort)

Is Google Maps considered a travel app?

Hi jhm, i would recommend the Photographer's Ephemeris app for time and direction of sunrise/set as well as moon rise/set. Takes elevation and hills into consideration.

                    WeChat

Yo, does anybody use WeChat? People are asking me to use it, but I really don't want/need ANOTHER app after Skype (old version BEFORE the MSFT purchase) (I AM looking for a replacement as the recent versions harvest all the data from your phone. Thanks, Bill! ), WhatsApp, and KakaoTalk.

The reviews are hilarious in that a few claim that you can only add Asians.

WeChat is MUCH better than WhatsApp in terms of features such and it has very easy-to-use voice messaging.

It's free, and it doesn't show your last online time and doesn't show "Typing..." for those who find it intrusive.

I don't use WeChat - WhatsApp and SMS/iMessage cover nearly everyone who messages me. I also have LINE and Viber installed but rarely use those.

Do you mean the following Skype bug (or feature) ?

Isn't the Audio Note on WhatsApp basically the same thing?

iMessage would be great if it didn't randomly delete messages.

Nope, there are a lot of evil things MSFT added to the code.

Yet another reason to only update via iTunes and always save the .ipa files that are trashed when you update an app.

I've seen some people migrating over to VoxOx...
