  • Sights from Manila - Special dedication to jjpb3

One of my favourite Asian cities - Manila never fails to invigorate me.

Pics here are specially dedicated to jjpb3

Here are some everyday pics, should you ever contemplate a visit

The duane reade of the philippines, Mercury drug

Iconic and synonymous with Manila - a jeepney!

Also synonymous with the philippines - a sari-sari store (I'll leave jjpb3 to explain what that is)

Manila is advertising board country. Due to the high incidence of strong winds during typhoons, A-boards can be quickly unfurled and stowed away.
Here's one with a picture of a favourite daughter of the Philippines. Anyone watch her brilliant performance live as Kim in the original Miss Saigon?

Part Makati and another city in Metro Manila. Distant view

The Saks fifth avenue of Manila, Rustans

    Outside the Shangri-La Makati

    Looking down towards Ayala Avenue

    more to come

I could be wrong, but it does seem like some of the photos are not showing up?

And you gotta love the University of Perpetual Help...

Awww, you make me homesick, SQfg! You've so far captured iconic images of my Manila.

<-- because San Mig (well, San Mig Lite for me ) is our preferred drink in Manila ('Mag-beer muna tayo!')

Lea = . Not as renowned as her West End or Broadway performances as Kim, but the Manila performances, IMHO, showcased her talent even more:

(I'm a huge fan, can you tell? )

More homesickness (but it's a good kind of yearning). kapitan, thanks.
