9V-SCK now enroute from Charleston to Singapore as SQ8878 -- so it has delivered on 2 May.
SQ618-03 was subbed by A333 9V-STU: SCK should help.

Seem like SCG was down for maintainance or some other issue.
Edit: SCG is back on service.

See SQ Facebook that paxes are complaining of the swapping of 787.

          • Grounding due to engine issue potentially can be more financially and operationally challenging moving forward since A350, A330neo and B77X have only single engine OEM supplier. Let's hope both Airbus and Boeing get this right for their respective program. 787 at least has two choices. I wonder why SQ didn't choose GE over RR since they are one of later 787 operators?

RR is SQ's first choice if available, just like CX

RR made significant investments in Singapore and JV with SQ through SIAEC. So not surprising SQ will pick RR whenever they have a choice.

                • Perhaps SQ will learn from this expensive lesson with the RR Trent 1000 and 1000 TEN, and it would seems that the engines will take a couple of years before the turbine blades will be built to its exacting design with much longer service life. And SQ's 787s will be down for more frequent checking of its engines than usual for the next couple of years.

Its not just RR that have given SQ a headache. Look what happened to 9V-SWB. That has GE engines.

There is no perfect aircraft engine choice.

That was somewhat a one off and initially there were some minor issues with the GEs but this time around the RR 1000 series involved all the new aircrafts of some 11 787s delivered to SIA and will be affect the next few future deliveries until RR rectified the probem in a couple of years. The entire Scoot 19 787s RR engines have had the same turbine blades failure problem and its planes have been grounded due to this and have its fair share of flight disruptions over the past 2 years because of this.

Actually SQ876/877 returns to B787 operation in GDS from 11 June 2019, with a five day reversion to the A330 27 July - 31 July.

                              • 787 sheets are updated to LN1000, with SQ to take the following planes:

                                - LN856: 9V-SCL
                                - LN882: 9V-SCM
                                - LN896: 9V-SCN
                                - LN938: 9V-SCO
                                - LN1000: 9V-SCP
