I guess that would suit couples travelling for their holidays together. I'd hate to travel in First Class and then have to sit through a business meeting!

I think that feature would encourage companies to put their employees in F.

Reminds me of the chairs on Japan trains. Cool

What will be cooler is when will I get the chance to try out Etihad?

It doesn't sound that different from AA F (except the seats there only swivel 90 degrees I think), e.g. you can work/dine together with one sat on the ottoman; and I believe four seats in the centre can all dine/work together.

Flew CA F SHA-PEK today - a short (1:30) flight which was quite fun as it was on a 744.

CA's new F class seats are AA F's flagship suites (e.g. swivelling 90 degrees to face the window; fully flat wide bed with the arm rests pushed down; and being able to dine/work with another pax sat on the ottoman) but unlike AA F (which uses video tapes), has AVOD/games similar to SQ.

Due to the short duration, a strange meal with everything but the main course, e.g. it had dessert and fruit. Very pleasant cabin crew as well.

Given that even airlines like CA have such great seats, I think SQ needs to come out with something new and innovative to stay ahead in the race...

    Back to flying SQ tomorrow...

I do not like flying with my seat facing backwards so this willl be a no-no for me.
    Which is Etihad anyway?

Etihad is based in Abu Dhabi (AUH), which was previously a Gulf Air hub but the rulers must have been impressed with what EK have done so they're having a go themselves. They've placed the standard large orders including A380 etc.

They are growing at quite a rate same as Qatar and Emirates and have some good fares ex-MAN. I have heard very mixed reviews of the inflight service so far but I suppose it's early days.

It would be even worse to sit through someone else's business meetings! Some passengers really don't know how to talk at a civilised volume...
