  • The 772 that will be operating the Scoot charters is one of the SV-birds according to the seat map display.

On a separate note, SYJ has returned to service today after more than two months.

Makes sense, since the SVs have more Y seats. Wow, that means the scoot biz pax will have full flat beds!

      • Interestingly, SVE is going back into service tonight after a 2 month hiatus on SQ297/298.

That’s bizarre..it’s not as if they have a shortage of 77Es. I recall SVE was also out of service a few months before it abruptly came back for a few days then vanished again. Perhaps it’s not yet due for retirement, but rather having tech issues they were trying to fix.

          • The 772ER chartered by scoot for SIN-SYD flights is SVJ. Did SQ8121 last night.

Didn’t take more than two days to prep it for the scoot flights!

That leaves SVI and SVG parked somewhere idle.

              • It's time to put at least one of those relics out of its misery. They only need 5 of them for the flights they are rostered to take. #retireSVE

ZK-OKI departed SIN-AKL this morning in basic SQ livery as NZ6018.

Yes do agree that SIA should remove the 772s soonest, but it looks like now SIA have changed its position of having the youngest average fleet to holding back and using older planes even 16 years and above. This is likely because there's little used market for old 772s, But on the other hand, it will cost SIA more in maintenance costs and in unscheduled downtime and additional maintenance due to the aircraft age and besides, the heavier 772s will cost more in fuel cost and at the sametime for landing and airport charges.

                    • Was booking some flights to BKK and noticed that the 772s have been removed off the SIN-BKK-vv rotation. Now its only the A333 and B78X that's doing the BKK service.

                          • SVC isn't going to be retired anytime soon.... of the 8 remaining 772ERs, i'm pretty sure SVC isn't one of the 5 to be retired this FY.

In fact, does anyone know if SVE was refitted with the 77W seats during it's absence? Cos if SVE does have it... then we know which 5 are going to be retired.

                            • Another 16 year-old 773 with registration 9V-SVF is doing a SIN-CGK as SQ 960 now. Seems like SQ is pushing some of these 16 year old planes for at east another close to 2 years.

9V-SYF you mean. 9V-SVF has left SQ's fleet.
