If they kept the whole fuselage a deep copper colour (including the nose), I think it could work!

            • The ULR looks nice! As according to some posts, a few posters have said it's going to be delivered in August.

Does it mean SQ 11/12 and/or SQ7/8 will be axed?

The article also mentions that the A35-90ULRs will also operate additional SIN-SFO non stop flights, 3 times a week. This will bring the total no of SIN-SFO non-stop flights to 10x a week - daily SQ32/31 by the standard A350-900 and 3x a week by the A350-900ULRs... Exciting times indeed!

                          • Indeed. Here's a link with more info from routesonline:

Singapore Airlines today (11JUL18) opened reservation for its planned service resumption on nonstop Singapore – Los Angeles route, on board Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft. Initially service commences on 02NOV18 with 4 weekly flights (SQ038/037), increasing to 7 weekly from 12NOV18, 10 weekly from 07DEC18 (SQ036/035).

Planned schedule from 12NOV18 as follows.

                            SQ036 SIN0820 – 0730LAX 359 357
                            SQ038 SIN2045 – 1955LAX 359 D

                            SQ035 LAX0915 – 1905+1SIN 359 357
                            SQ037 LAX2225 – 0815+2SIN 359 D

From 01DEC18, the airline will cancel Singapore – Seoul Incheon – Los Angeles route. Singapore – Seoul Incheon will be kept at 4 daily level as SQ008/007 replaced by SQ612/611.

                            SQ612 SIN0230 – 0950ICN 77W D
                            SQ611 ICN1240 – 1825SIN 77W D

SIA will continue to operate 1 daily Singapore – Tokyo Narita – Los Angeles service with 777-300ER, however further changes from 01DEC18 is likely.

Additionally, the Star Alliance member will expand nonstop Singapore – San Francisco service from 7 to 10 weekly from 28NOV18. The new SQ034/033 will be operated by A350-900ULR, while existing SQ032/031 continues with A350-900XWB.

                            SQ032 SIN0920 – 0750SFO 359 D
                            SQ034 SIN1520 – 1350SFO 359 357

                            SQ031 SFO0930 – 1905+1SIN 359 D
                            SQ033 SFO2010 – 0540+2SIN 359 357
Great choice of timings for SFO indeed. I knew one day they will find some way to have passengers arrive in SIN by morning. While none of my parents prefer the nonstops, we are still happy that SQ1/2 remain a good option for us as well.

                            • The increase flights to SFO/LAX will only boost capacity on PEY and J
Poor Y flyer like me have to either take the stop over flight or the A350 XWB
