I'd like to apologise that I've been too distracted with real life to post an update before the start of 2012. Will work on getting the rest of the posts out asap! (Cheers all and Happy New Year in advance!)

So long there're more "interesting" pics on the way, we can be very patient.

So do I! I'm very happy watching documentaries of them swimming and breaching. Especially beluga whales, they look so cute. But I'm not too sure about beached whales!

Like 9V-JKL, I'm also waiting for the juicy bachelor bits!

Ewww, no, please no. Not even if pixelated.

The TR's up to your usual excellent standards, Kyo. Looking forward to the rest. (And keep up the pixelation. )

That is my first thought too when I went to FRA FCT, but after I had been to MUC FCL, I had totally changed my mind. MUC FCL's day room win miles ahead of FRA FCT's day rooms.

As in MUC FCL, they also only have two rooms, but the difference is in MUC, the room inside actually have a real bed that come with a real mattress already covered in sheets and a comforter, what FRA has is only an uncomfortable so called "daybed" you have to put your own sheets on.

Disclaimer #2: This is your last chance to turn back. Some of you may want to hit the Page Down key as the bromance dial gets turned up to 10! You've been warned!

Redux! - Booyah (click here for the previous photo, as you can see, this is the left-right technique, whilst the inaugural one was right-left).
Why is it you post under the water in the tub, but then the middle part of your body cover up with those squares like in Japanese porn ?

Sorry to hijack this thread, I was given the honor of taking a retrofitted A340-300 New First Class on X'mas Day from SIN-MUC leg and had the chance to use the First Class Lounge in Munich for the transit. After happily taking photos in the lounge, I was politely told by the staff that photography is not allowed and that since I had taken the photos, I should keep it for myself not to post online, anywhere to maintain the exclusiveness of the lounge.

Should I listen to her? :S
I was in MUC FCL the day after your visit on Dec 26th, I had probably taken over 50 photos (general area, sitting area, christmas booths with all the santa claus chocolate and cookies, restaurant, food, cigar lounge, showers). I took many photos when I went in the lounge, slept for 3 hours, wake up, eat, took more photos, no one said a word to me in that 5+ hours I was there.

                            The Trip To The Plane

Well, after my approximately 3-hour *ordeal* (I know, I know!) lounging around, taking a nap, setting up and posing for the camera, I was bracing myself for the approximately 13 hours return journey back to SIN

The Long Walk - Viewed from the glassed confines of the FCT

(In case you were paying attention, the photo above is the view of the trek I had made earlier from the main terminal.)

As I got ready to leave, I threw a challenge to the FCT bartender (a lovely young lady, by the way) to 'surprise me'. Indeed, she didn't disappoint - a peachy/unknown-alcoholic beverage concoction was whipped up in no time, with sufficient, albeit dignified, bartender flair befitting the FCT to boot. Just what I needed!

Calls for boarding were given and I gathered my carry-ons but there remained one niggling question that had been absorbing the rest of my thoughts throughout that evening:

What fanciful mode of transportation will Kyo+ get today?

                            Would it be -

                            Another S-Class?

                            Porsche par Nickbots?

                            Time to find out.

The LH attendant accompanied me down the lift, and we entered the Immigration/Tarmac Transfer Area (as I like to call it). Now, I'm rather conscious that due to the Immigration counter they have below the FCT, photos are out of the question, so I took great care in being very subtle with my taking of photos below.

Here's the view of what you see when you exit the lift -

Subtly-taken Photo - Results in blurry image

Immediately, my attention was drawn to the array of vehicles waiting behind the windows in front of me...

...and my heart started to sink.

                            What the...?!

A second take confirmed the sight before my eyes:

                            A Mercedes - Van (!)

Now, there was an S-Class parked right next to it, and a Porsche further away, but my spider-sense was tingling and it wasn't a good feeling I was getting.

My worst fears were inevitably confirmed.

Mercedes Van - Makes Kyo's heart sink and fingers shake (I literally shot from the hip!)

With my second-ever LH F departure from FRA now imminent, my passport was returned to me, with all formalities already completed whilst I was lounging upstairs. Before they bade me goodbye, the very pleasant LH attendants (one attendant per pax, and there were 5 of us) made pleasant small-talk about how they were shocked with the hassle I'd gone through back in the main terminal with claiming my tax back, but clearly it was an issue LH/FRA airport should take another look at in the future. Oh well! They also apologised that due to a full load of F pax, we would all be transported in the Mercedes Van, instead of the Porsche or the S-Class.

I'm very pleased to announce that this was the final and only 'disappointment' of this particular LH F experience.

The rest of the TR gets better from here. Much, much better!

We all hopped in (all the other F pax were pleasant, and an Italian couple seated across from me even noted that I would be flying to MLE the following day with them, as they'd overheard my LH attendant saying to theirs earlier) - however the language barrier prevented further communication.

Some pics from the ride on the tarmac:

Frankfurt Airport - Arguably one of the best places to leave the EU from (that I've taken, having noted ORDnHKG's comments on MUC)

We Passed Another Big Bird - Not our ride for tonight

Before our Big Bird finally came into view -

My First LH 388 - In all its glory!

With my eager anticipation for the LH F 388 ride ahead now clearly shown on my face, I admit to just about leaping out of the van as soon as we'd come to a halt in excitement.

Our Ride - Parked on the tarmac next to the 388

She's a BIG'un - So big it takes two photos to capture the entirety of its bulk

Her Name is: New York - And she's M-A-S-S-I-V-E!

Side note: By the oddest of coincidences, the Big Bird's moniker corresponded with Kyo+'s next major destination - yep, The Big Apple herself (where in *almost exactly* a week where I'll be landing, to be precise!)

Allow Me To Demonstrate - This is how one poses next to an LH 388

As I didn't want to keep my fellow F/HON pax waiting too long (dearie me, it would be most unbecoming!), I bolted to the waiting secure elevator that brought us up to the aerobridge. Here's what it looks like from inside the glass elevator:

Rockstars Board here - View from the tarmac lift

I guess it's time to see what the fuss is all about, then.

Next instalment: The (Definitive!) Lufthansa 388 First Class Experience Begins
