  • KLM's 78J seats 344 and they will be using it to SFO which is about 5,400miles.
SYD from SIN is only about 3,900miles.

    • SQ's 789s have their engines derated - not sure if other airlines like KLM etc does.

SQ has no 789s?? As far as I’m aware only their A350-900 in regional config are derated. The 78X already has a reduced range as it is compared to its siblings.

Could they use some J seats as crew rest like some other airlines do? Not ideal but could be used as a stop gap?

          • I don't know why we would want to encourage the use of a 787 for longer flights than currently performed. The A350 is a little more comfortable with a marginally wider 3-3-3 Y seating layout. Both cabins would have to be a bit tighter with the narrower 787.

            • The juggling of 78X aircraft assignments continues: effective 1 August, SQ608/607 lose their 78X for an A359R. Meantime, SQ876/877 is temporarily being performed by an A333; effective 1 August, that rotation gets back the 78X.

SQ618/619 to 78X as from 27 July, as planned.

They should have more than enough 787-10 to cover for Taipei since SCD is back. Even today SQ890 was swapped to 787-10 (9V-SCH)

                        Check again?

SCL has been quite busy according to FR24 - it went to HKG and ICN yesterday, and should be on the way back from BKK as SQ975 at time of posting.

                            • Just taken SQ947 from Bali on SCA.
33/36 of J seat taken. 296 out of 301 Y seats fill. Good demand on this flight.
But only 10 persons terminate their journey at Changi. Balance paxes all are connecting to other flights.
