Yes, it’s 9V-SHO. She exited the Paint Hanger three days ago.

    • According to Routesonline:
      Singapore – Tokyo Haneda eff 25OCT20 SQ634/635 and SQ636/631 operated by A350-900XWB, replacing 777-300ER (Overall 4 daily A350)
      SQ632 SIN0805 – 1535HND 359 D
      SQ634 SIN1405 – 2140HND 359 D
      SQ630 SIN1725 – 0100+1HND 359 D
      SQ636 SIN2245 – 0620+1HND 359 D

      SQ639 HND0205 – 0820SIN 359 D
      SQ631 HND0850 – 1525SIN 359 D
      SQ633 HND1640 – 2320SIN 359 D
      SQ635 HND2250 – 0525+1SIN 359 D

Seems like SQ634/635 and SQ636/631 will be using the A359 Long Haul frames. That will make HND 3 daily A359LH and 1 daily A359 Regional from 25OCT20.

If both those flight pairs are going to use long haul configured A350s then there would have to be more of them on the way, i.e. SJB, SJC or they plan to cut current long haul operations that fly between 0200 & 0600 SIN time.

slot the 77Ws back in to european routes, likely...and take the 359LHs from there.

wow these A350s are flooding the network much faster than the 777s did when they started arriving back in the early 2000s.

I believe you're correct that more Long Haul A350s will come.
BCN non-stop is going 3x from 2x weekly from June 2020. That needs a Long-Haul config

On top of that, CPH is going daily from 5x weekly starting Jan. SEA and IST are going 5x from 4x weekly from March. The same can be said for SIN-MEL-WLG, starting January. In addition, these long haul A350s will start flying on (ex-SIN) SQ890 (HKG) and SQ958/966 (both CGK) starting March. SQ will definitely take delivery of more long haul A350s (these still appear to stay on Europe routes too!)

I think SJA and the last few SMx will provide capacity for these increases but it’s going to get quite tight. I’d agree they’re going to need more, especially as once the last remaining 772ERs are retired, covering for a long haul A350 in a moment of need will get difficult. The flights that really need them critically mostly leave around midnight and having to wait for “next available” means a 5 hour delay through the early hours of the morning for affected passengers. A long haul can always fill in for a short haul but not the other way round.

                • With Singapore Airlines launching 4 weekly A359 service to Brussels from 25OCT20, they will definitely need more A359 Long Haul frames.

                  • SQ323/324 (SIN-AMS) will swapped from A350 to 777-300ER from 25/10/20.

I recall when AMS first got the 777-300ER a few years ago you could fly F for <75k miles one way! Managed to snag that once before it was lumped together with the rest of Europe.

Good to see the 77W back. Last few trips to Europe the JCL fares have always been quite high compared with CDG and FRA, which I found surprising, but probably due to the (much) smaller J cabin on the A350.

Ever since AMS got the A350 the fares have been much higher, but I hope it stays with AMS if they're going to go 77W on the route again. I'm sure many of us recall the constant back and forth between the 772ER and the 77W before the A350 made its debut.

Having made several trips on SQ324/SQ323 to AMS this year (was on my way to Brussels), I can confirm that the J cabin has been typically full on several occasions. Probably warrants the capacity upgauge to 77W for the additional 8 J seats compared to the long haul A350.

                          • The daily Dhaka (DAC) SQ446/447 switches from A330 to A350 Regional from 1 Feb 20 (the additional 3x weekly SQ448/449 on this route remains as planned: 777-200ER until end of Jan 20, then 777-200 in Feb/Mar 20, then A330 thereafter).

The daily Ahmedabad (AMD) SQ530/531 also switches from A330 to A350 Regional from 1 Feb 20.

At this rate it's hard to see that there will be any A330s left in the fleet by the end of 2020.

                            • Another one:

The daily Hanoi (HAN) SQ176/175 switches from A330 to A350 Regional from 3 Feb 20 (the additional 3x weekly SQ187/188 on this route remains A330).

4x weekly SilkAir operation on this route is unaffected.

So I would like to know where the extra 77W capacity is coming from? I don't think they have that much slack in the fleet for a new daily route to Europe. Especially as the 77Ws will needed to cover the 380s during the refurb. We have also see the other speculation about the SIN - FRA - JFK route going to a 77W...
