Fuel prices went above $100 per barrel and the decision was made to terminate the flights

After they stopped, oil prices fell to $40 per barrel!

I wonder if they could have continued till the A359ULR replaced them....

I remember the discussion at the time was definitely not. SQ did some long-term fuel hedging, which meant they were definitely not getting it for $40 per barrel and the A359ULR was not even thought of at that point. Somebody made a comment on here at one point that Krisshop sales may have been the only revenue they were making off those flights.
