Singapore Airlines to Enhance New Business Class Seats

From January, SIA will begin enhancements to the Business Class seats on board its B777-300ERs and A380-800s, enhancing seat comfort with new headrests, backrests and improved seat cushions. At the same time, a new bed pad will improve sleeping comfort.

They could certainly do with a revamp, if only to cleam them up and stop them looking so tatty and worn. I flew She Was Ace a couple of weeks ago and the seats were in an awful state.

But, it's still a 'New product', apparently....

Still no saver or alliance awards on the 'New product' that is ALREADY BEING REVAMPED! It's ridiculous.

With several aircrafts being retrofitted, has the number of aircrafts with non AVOD being reduced now significantly?

In BA circles, we have Old Club World (OCW), New Club World (NCW) and New New Club World (NNCW).

So obviously this is SQ's New New Business Class Seats!

No changes. The non AVOD aircraft are untouched by the retrofit exercise.

Apart from the 4 773s & 1 772 being returned to lessors in the upcoming fiscal year, don't think any of the other 777s will be leaving unless they are sold. The BI 772s will be returning in 2012/2013 assuming their leases are not extended.

This was my first thought also, all new again before it became old enough for saver awards, looks like it will be atleast another 4 year wait.

                      Prediction:

There's going to be a slew of these questions:

So what's the schedule for enhancement
which bird is in/will be in for enhancement
how do I know if my plane has been enhanced
has anyone got pictures/TR of the enhanced seats

So with CX introducing a New New New Business Class, and rolling them out in Mar 2011, we are stuck with just Enhanced New Business Class here on SQ?
                          How is this acceptable???

I wonder whether these changes are prompted by changing to a different seat supplier due to the certification problems with the Koito seats.

They should consider having the cushion softness as a choice like pillows in hotels now.
