Hello all - I am new to SQtalk and this my first post so I hope this question has not been canvassed elsewhere.

I plan to fly PER-IST in May using a Business Saver redemption but I am not keen to fly the SIN-IST leg in the the old regional recliner seats. I checked the relevant flight (SQ490) on the Flight24.com site and it shows that the flight is operated by the same Spacebed-equipped 777-200ER aircraft that also fly SIN-AMS, SIN-ATH, SIN-FCO etc (ie the SV series). This is also shown on the Wikipedia SIA fleet page.

I rang Singapore Airlines bookings to confirm this but was told that the flight offered J recliner seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. The agent also said that F seats were available so I asked him to try to make an F booking and he seemed a bit put out when he found that no seats were showing on his system.

I have always assumed that 777-200ER aircraft were assigned to this route when direct SIN-IST flight were introduced last year but now I don't know.

Can anyone confirm the current status of this?

I thought SGN was a B772 with Regional products?

Did not realise it was a B772ER with Spacebeds. Excellent if thats the case.

For SIN-SGN, it seems to depend on your flight timing. I find the early Saturday morning flight to be very consistent so far with Spacebeds (and hence, the lunch flight back from SGN-SIN operated by the same bird)
