Twice in a week is a really bad look.

Having been on an SQ31 in between the two cancelled flights, they certainly aren't running them half empty. Some seats are not sold to reduce weight but I think most of the others on my flight were occupied.

Just off SMH - they are clearly not in a rush to fix WiFi. What's worse, the crew had no idea about it not working, they checked and rechecked even tried their hand phones so clearly they are not notified about it.

I feel like this is not the full extent of A350s breaking down, as we've noted so far only problems with flying planes back to SIN. If these issues developed before a flight out of SIN, they could replace it with another plane and we would be none the wiser.

SQ is an airline with quite a reputation for reliability and punctuality, so I suspect there may be a few terse phone calls between Singapore and Toulouse right now.

This was related on an engine problem. So probably a terse conversation with RR?

Not again... At one stage, most of the delays to ZRH were being caused by flights arriving late from PVG, but the major delays recently have been with planes that had arrived into SIN well over 6 hours before their departure was due. Punctuality and Swiss culture go hand in hand, so these continual delays will not go down well.

SKL is back in service and SQ217/8 has lost its A380, so I'm struggling to understand why they seem so desperately short of them.

SQ is definitely not having a good run with their A350s.

SQ 51 MAN-IAH-SIN for 02 and 03 May have been cancelled. Was scheduled to be operated by 9V SMH.

I think it is delayed by 18 hours rather than canceled. But might as well be!

Does anyone know if QR or CX have had similar difficulties?

Unlike the Dreamliner when it first started flying, I haven't heard anything negative in the press about the A350, but it usually has to be something with alarming photos for the press to be interested, like a fried battery inside the cabin...

A lot of the flights are departing/departed with delays tonight due to the weather.

SQ218 is arriving into SIN late due to disruptions at MEL last night when a disturbed passenger attempted to hijack an MH flight shortly after take off with a power bank. He was subdued by passengers but it shut down the runway for a few hours apparently, as the flight had to turn around and land.
