Close to Toulouse. They gonna remove the engines, so maybe because mechanics are easily available form the Airbus factory which adds to the flexibility if they find a new customer for the bird...

      • I bet an A380 in Tarbes has caused a stir with the locals.

        • 9V-SKA has landed in LDE. It is Tarmac Aerosave's 500th aircraft handled apparently.

Not the first airbus to be stored there judging by the 340s in the background

              • This is like exporting a car after 10 years in Singapore. There's a chance you might get something above scrap value. But no PARF rebate here.

                  • seems quite a tight schedule to retrofit an average of 7 A380s in a year.

Not tight unless there are enough people to work on the retrofit and if they take two craft out of service similar to the 77W. The linked article seems they're only going to start late next year.

                        • The plan was that SQ returns the first five A380 and takes delivery of five new A380. Total number of planes would have been 15.

Now we read that all 14 remaining aircraft will be refurbished and SQ will take delivery of five new aircraft. Total number will be 19.

How would that calculate as 15? 19–5+5=19

Premium economy seats are now available on 60 of SIA's long-haul planes: the Airbus 380, the A-350 and Boeing 777-300ER. Five more B-700ERs will be retrofitted with the new class of seats before the end of next year.
The reconfigured cabin in the superjumbo has 471 seats - six ultra-first class suites, 78 in business class, 44 in the premium economy cabin and 343 economy seats. SIA's current fleet of A-380s has up to 441 seats each, with 36 premium economy seats and 333 economy class seats.

                                The trend is interesting.
