Taxi fare increases?

Can someone please verify the extent of the increases in taxi rates charged by most companies in Singapore? I understand that there is a big increase in the cost of booking a taxi in advance and a small change in the cost of the initial distance. Also, there seems to be an expansion of the periods during which surcharges apply.

So if I do not preorder a taxi but find one on the street or have my hotel call when I need the taxi to go to the airport, there is not much change, given that I already pay the post-midnight surcharge?

Yep - fares are increasing...!

Remember the once upon a time only surcharge at midnight to 6am of 50%? Well, that's not all its going to be now...

Starting at Midnight to 6am, fares will have a 50% surcharge. (Daily)
Then from 6am to 930am, fares will have a 25% surcharge (Mon-Fri only except holidays)
From 10am to 6pm, fares will be 'normal'
From 6pm to 1159pm, fares will have a 25% surcharge. (Daily)
