      • 3 years indeed. This thread still remains one of my favourites on SQTalk. Reading about this flight finally made me join this site after years of merely visiting it.

        • I love the tribute videos SQ posted of crew and pax sharing their memories of the 747.

          • So AF is bidding goodbye to the Jumbo Jet with a tribute flight (AF747, naturally) over France on 14 Jan 2016.

At the same time, there is a microsite tracing AF's "history, its professions, its fleet, its network and the attention it has always paid to its customers."

It made me think of SIA's Farewell 747 flight, together with the (now-defunct) siajourneys.com microsite. I miss that site, but even more, SIA's B744 Megatops!

            • I had many memories of the Megatops growing up as a child. Every long haul flight to/from SFO was only flown by a 744 til 2010. As much I miss these so much, the 77W is still my favorite. The A380 (Emirates) just doesn't do good for me, as there are many reasons I don't prefer it over the 77W.

SQ15/16 to/from ICN, and before that SEL (present-day GMP) was actually flown with A343 (Celestar) aircraft and then by 77Es after the Celestars were retired.

                • Rather ironic that on the day this was posted I bumped into another SQTalker who I was on SQ747/8 with who was on the same flight as me again who then bumped into another SQTalker from SQ747/8 at Changi who was on his connecting flight.

It can be a small world at times.

A 744 took off in HKG from 07L at 16:45 today, 2 planes in front of my CX711.

Wished but not... it was a freighter.

Can't seem to post an attachment. Will research how I can post it

Wow, hard to believe! It still feels like only a month ago when this thread was very active, and I saw the various TRs and and videos of a flight I sadly couldn't make it to.
