  • SWT has been out for 3 months (13 weeks) and was supposed to do an A/T according to iCargo a week ago. This to my knowledge is the longest (SWI actually took 12 weeks) that an original 77W has been out for a retrofit. Hopefully it will return to service in time for the PEK redeye flights (800/805) which are going 77WR very soon.

    • SWT went on air test today. Saw it taxiing out to 20R.

Yes it did. Now we can say all the 77W are a 77WR (finally!), so from this point, the 77WR designation should end and be called a 77W again since all of them are 4-class.

        • SWT doing its first 77WR revenue flight as SQ866/865 to HKG. The reverse shows 4 First Class seats.

FSJZ, when you get time please update the SQ Fleet accordingly.

Indeed. Now they are all 777WR it is easier to determine what product customers will get.

I am just wondering about the Singapore Airlines Cargo Boeing 747-400F fleet
Will they be replaced by B772F or B747-8 aircraft, when they are beyond economic use?

                    • Also, SQ832/835 to PVG, which only operate during the Northern Summer Schedule, usually served by a 772 has switched to a 77W completely. My observation source: FR24, though it hasn't been officially announced anywhere, including routesonline.

FYI, it will switch to a 772 between 27 April and 31 May. Followed by the 77E for the months of June and July and then a 773 from August.

That's not something that is public knowledge, even if SQ is leaning one way or the other. The nose loading door is a plus of the 747-8F but the 777F probably offers very good operating economics that might trump the 747-8F.

Personally I hope SQ opts for the jumbojet 747-8F

It's currently operated by a 773. The 77W is now used for MEL (217/218)

Yes, the 773 is until 30 April, my bad. The 77E will still follow for the month of May.

                              • SQ just announced its results. For the first time in many years, it has not included a “Fleet Development “ section.
