Don't mean to poop yer party but why all this? As more A380s come into SQ service, those routes that can use them whalejets will get them. Does it really matter when?

No way of anybody finding out who 'told' you this then...

          I'm very skeptical.

What do I need to buy/get to be prepared?

Is there an A380 kit that you can buy - sort of like an earthquake kit? Will my Boeing 747 kit be usable with the A380? The last thing we need is a bunch of folks buying all the A380 readiness stuff and hawking it on eBay.

              I am skeptical as well.

ZRH was rumored to start whalejet service in September before MEL was announced. It was even in Tagesanzeiger (ZRH local tabloid). What is your guess? FRA with suspension of JFK tag?

                My guesses (in order):
                1. SIN-FRA, with FRA-JFK either dropped or down-gauged,
                2. 3rd SIN-LHR
                3. 2nd SIN-SYD

Will there be any more SIN-HKG or other regionals that fit logically into the A380 rotation due to the expansion?

Does it make sense to upgauge SQ325/326 to A388 and downgauge SQ25/26 to 77W? JFK tag can stay with 77W service.

This only requires 1 1/2 A388 and 1 77W. SQ will have enough A388 when SKK comes in. They just need to pull a 77W from regional route and use 773A instead.

I'd probably put the second SIN-SYD (most likely SQ219/220) ahead of the 3rd LHR flight (SQ308/319). I know they downgaguged that LHR flight to 77W from 744 earlier this year because the loads were low. Unless it picked up, WhaleJet could be flying with a lot of vacant seats.

No, SQ25/26 has much more demand than SQ325/326.

Flight timing issue. I see. But it is not feasible to tag on JFK flights to SQ325/326, unless SQ change SQ326 to early morning departure from SIN.

Humm.. Perhaps JFK will be suspended.

Shouldn't this crazy discussion have been started in the A380 thread?

An alternative would be to operate the FRA-JFK tag as SQ25/26 with the 777-300ER 6x weekly. That would allow the aircraft to be rotated back to SIN as SQ325.
