Thanks for this amazing report, 9V-SIA!! . I've always wanted to take this flight. As a student, living in neither JFK or SIN, which makes the things even more complicated, I doubt I will be able to take it soon, though .

Do you share my feeling of excitement as you drive up the ramp to the Departure Hall?

      Glad you like enjoyed it.

Fun flight to take at least once in your life.

      Prices are edging up again..

.. over the years I've taken this flight.. SIN$5,500 to SIN$12,400

So I'll have to wait for the next Global Financial Crisis

They were 5500SGD at one time? Wow.. especially since SQ rarely deeply discounts their fares, but I guess they had no other choice last year(I assume fares were 5500SGD last year?)..

          You wish!

The lower fare was when A345 had J/Y+ configuration.

All biz A345 costs a lot more.

But if you can buy one seat and redeem one seat, not so painful.

Nice report I heard the 345s are relatively quiet but how much quieter are they compared to the 772 or the 333?

                Thanks.

Nothing is as noisy as a 777. Never flown the A333.

I probably sit in the noisiest part of the A345 but it wasn't unpleasant.

Quieter than 77W sitting in F.

These are subjective observations and you'd need a machine that measures decibels to be certain

sorry to go a bit OT here.

wonder which part is the nosiest part of the plane? For my recent trip, was seated twice just in front of the wings or engine (on B773), n i do hear some sort of weird and loud persistent sounds on the climb phase and at times during cruising.

                    Noise

The nearer you sit to the engines, the louder.

The further in front of the engines you sit, the quieter

I guess you are "leaving the sound behind".

VC10s were quiet planes before the A380 came along

                    Sounds

Stop watching "Air Crash Investigation" will ya?
