I must admit I started having serious doubts about this Marc Newson character when Qantas raved about his fabulous design for their new first class lounge in Sydney a few weeks ago...
From the Qantas news release : "Designed by Marc Newson (who’s designed everything from airplanes to bags), the lounge, which is rumoured to have cost $20 million, boasts features usually seen only in super-luxe designer hotels"...
Perhaps Marc should focus his extraordinary talents on designing bags.

Though I happen to agree with you about the A380 whY cabin, I have to wholehearterly agree with Qantas about the Flounges. Whilst the LH FCT still has an edge with the limo transfers and better champagnes, I personally prefer the funky decor of the QF Flounges by far. Shame that they saw fit to match the magnificent hardware and superb service with NV champagnes though...

He did quite a good job with the JL F suites I reckon.
But I don't get his new design concept - the use of loud AND contrasting colours. It first appeared in the form of the domestic whY casseroles, then you could see the same theme in almost every single one of his new design pitches (not just with Qantas) - and has finally manifested itself in the A380.
I just love some of those comments! In particular:
"I felt sick just looking at it, thank god I only fly Singapore airlines these days... <edited> ...Can you imagine how bad Marc Newson house must look, is he ex-army or just on drugs?

I find this real funny too:
As for the Cattle Class, at least there is Grass coloured seats to graze on.
That said, its amusing how so many of them believed the green exterior undercoat will be the final paintwork?
Actually SQ was the pioneer to used red seats cover in the Economy Class cabin back in 2004 on the old A345 configuration which fitted with Premium Economy seats...
