    2011?!

SQ really want to get rid of all of their B744 in a flash so that the A380 and the B773(ER) can take over

Five years is a pretty good amount of time for SQ. Also, the deliveries for the 77Ws will long be done by then. Of the 19 firm orders, five are already in service, one should be arriving before the end of the month, and four more by mid-2007, so that's more than half there.

Actually, SQ have kept them longer than planned (past their lease expirations in some cases, which is very expensive) due to the WhaleJet fiasco. The oldest is now just over 14 years old. SQ don't like to keep them past about 12 years. SQ now have 72 aircraft on order (19 WhaleJets, 14 B777-300ERs, 20 B787-9s, and 19 A330-300s). All of these are scheduled for delivery over the next six years. Considering the current fleet size is 90-92, I'm not so sure we'll see another SQ order in 2007. If backlogs were shorter, there is no way we would see another order so soon.

As of the end of 2012, the SQ fleet will include approximately 118 aircraft:
19 WhaleJets (assuming SQ can get them by then, and decide to keep them)
        19 B777-300ERs
        ~7 B777-300
        15 B777-200ERs
        ~14 B777-200s
        20 B787-9s
        5 A340-500s
        19 A330-300s

The B777-300s, B777-200ERs, B777-200s, and A340-500s (~39 aircraft) will be ripe for replacement from 2013 through 2016. Do those orders need to be placed in 2007? With backlogs as long as they are now, maybe some of them do.

          What about the A350s?

They still haven't signed for it yet. Supposedly next month that'll be done. Besides, that'll be the fleet in 2012. The A350s won't be delivered until 2014 at least.

SQ haven't ordered any A350s. They are still being weighed against more B787s and SQ are having both Airbus and Boeing sharpen their pencils. I wouldn't bet either way on it. Regardless, SQ probably couldn't get an A350 before 2014.
