It looks like the first SQ-operated 737-800 flight might be the BWN rotation in November - SQ148/147. The seatmap shows the same SilkAir config (with re-numbered rows) as expected but interestingly, the number of J seats on sale is capped at 8.

The same number of J seats on the A319. Maybe it makes it easier for aircraft swaps.

Delaying the merger will cause they to lose even more money. Something they don't want to do.

It's quite common for airlines to have completely different interiors on different aircraft. I should imagine repaints will be done before they enter SQ service.

SIA has already stated that not all the Silkair planes will be painted in SQ colors by mext year and so far only 2 planes are in SQ colors.
Airlines may have different interiors but have some common identity but for SIA, its a complete different identity from its corporate colors and configuration of its wide body aircrafts to Silkair single aisle which is even without PTV and tight seatings.

The two MI aircrafts in SQ Colours, are you referring to one MI 738 (9V-MGA) now in SQ colours; and one MI Max-8 (9V-MBN)? Or are you implying two MI 738s are now in SQ colours? If so, what's the other, apart from 9V-MGA?

But will they be branded as SQ flights?

Again this is very common. Many airlines narrow body aircraft don't have PTV. SQ had purple seats until recently. That was over 10 years before they started phasing them out.

Either way both these issues are just cosmetic and don't really matter on the grand scheme of things.

Early post-pandemic travel will be mostly regional, I believe, so people used to fly both SQ/MI won't be much surprised, given that nowadays they book on the same SQ website, with SQ flight number.

It's a common practice that airlines do livery rebranding before reconfiguring the cabins. As long as they keep these planes off from CGK/HKG it'll definitely be fine.

Do we have a timeline of when this should take place?

MI brand will cease operating from end of next year/early 2022.
