2011 was a quiet year - only about 40 segments and 62,870 BIS miles.

2012 so far will be an even quieter year - zero miles ticketed.

There were no mistake fares to get my pulse racing. Plane classes/food and lounges don't seem to interest me much anymore. Plane types and sarong kebayas never have.

      Highlights:

      * Joining a SQTalker for part of his Tuscan bachelor road trip with enough Italian food and drink consumed to sink a small battleship

      * Tohoku (the northwest) in late spring - soaking in my first outdoor mixed onsen and watching the sun set below the horizon (magic!); and cherry blossom viewing

      * A taster of the food delights in Seoul lincluding rather addictive Korean fried chicken (thanks, stargold!)

Hardly any traveling in 2011... Longest flight was SIN-TPE, couple of trips to KUL and one each to HKT and DPS.... Don't think I even hit 10K BIS. Losing status with *A come May...

        Missing project work already...
God must have been a ship owner, he placed the raw materials far from where they are needed and covered two-thirds of the earth with water...

          52 sectors, 173777 miles, 8 NZ, 2 UA, 1 AC, 1 Southwest, 2 LH, 4 EK, 34 SQ. 130 nights away from home in 2011.

Guess which "real" airline has a monopoly on AKL-SIN-AKL!

8 sectors/25304 miles already booked for 2012. Highlight - not flying for a month over Christmas/New Year. Flying highlight - superb view of Table Mountain as we approached CPT, sitting in EK F Suite.

On the bus again on Sunday...
