9V-SWL hasn't been in revenue service since early September, with the last flight being SQ286|03SEP (AKL-SIN).

9V-SGE arrived SIN on 16/Nov. Was it not possible for her to be put into service on 18/Nov as replacement instead of 9V-SMS?

Yes, you are correct. I should have looked at FR24 a bit more carefully. Early Sept until now -- that's a long layoff.

The aft cargo door seal was faulty causing cabin air to leak which lead to cabin depressurization and the deployment of oxygen masks in flight.

              • have to wait for the official investigation report to see what was really the situation as some pax say its the door seal and whilst others say its the "aft cargo door". However fortunately the plane was just at 24,000 feet which is not that high and did not necessitate a fast dive down to lower attitude. Seems similiar to the Airbus A380 incident some years back were because of a door seal leak the plane have to be diverted to Azerbaijan.

                    • Its very heavy rain now at Changi at 615pm and on flightradar, saw 3 aircrafts doing a missed approach and going around to circle ie 3K594, MI773, JSA 698 and QFA2 from LHR.

Don't they have completely different cabins? How did SMS become the replacement?

My apology for the mistake. Seems like 9V-SWL did not land in Penang but made a callsign change midlfight before returning to Changi.
