  • I wonder if they've gotten permission to strip out seating from the ULR and carry cargo in the passenger cabin.

They are selling passenger tickets on these flights, so I don't think so.

      • There's no point to strip the ULR seats for cargo as it doesnt make sense to do so as this plane belly cannot even carry cargo. The A350 3 class plane could easily be used and still able to carry cargo on this route.

I think its possible that the volume of premium demand is higher ex-SFO which suits the deployment of the ULRs?

It’s also possible that they are simply running out of A350 LH aircraft to use. They are working pretty hard now and just announced some significant frequency increases, including on LAX and CPH, etc.

              • SQ maybe running "short" of A350s but from Dec SQ is only running close to 15% of their pre-covid flights only. If its indeed "short" of the 3 class A350s, it would be better to use its 77Ws to replace and free up the A350s for long thin routes like the SIN-SFO route as the 3 class A350s can carry some cargo to defray the costs rather than using the ULR which is not able to carry any cargo unless they modify it. Although the 77Ws may not be as efficient but it does carry more cargo than the A350s.

ULR can carry cargo. Only the forward cargo hold is deactivated. And maybe SQ have done some modifications already. You won’t know.

77W have been activated n dyploy on some of the routes. At least 5-6 77W are in service.

                  • Yes as mentioned, not sure if SQ have done some modificatons to allow the ULR to carry some cargo in its belly. Believed there are less than 5 77Ws in service now, although 2 have been "converted" to carry cargo in the main deck by removing the seats.

                    • The cargo hold for ULR can hold 16 LD3 container. So how much cargo can it carry?

Also with much lesser paxes, they should be able to place the paxes luggage’s in the cabin area ,in the overhead cabin ?

                        • A350ULR 9V-SGF is operating the first reinstated SQ34 to SFO tonight. Looks like SGE and SGG have also been recently reactivated to support the route.
