  • Sigiriya: Pictures Trip Report

I am not good in writing story. But I would love to share the experience of visiting Sigiriya on the last trip with DeltaFlyingProf. The sequence of the pictures will give you the narrative of the tour. Basically, it will start after the main entrance. You walk along the irrigtion garden, toward the base of the rock. Then you climbed up the stairs which are a bit steep. You will see the painting on the rock, and the mirror wall (which only had a very few Sanskrit verses left). Then you can go up to the top, again with steep stairs. Too many students that day we were there, but we were lucky to be in the main painting wall just in a nick of time before closing.

You see in the middle of pictures above the green trees, there are white color lining up. Those are the student visiotrs lining up to go up the stairs.

which lead you to the main rock stairs up

Since I am afraid of height and not good in my balance, I did not take any pictures of the metal circular stairs leading up to the painting on the rocks

          Painting on the Rock

If I remember the description of each painting, I will add later. But I know one of them is The Three Nipples.

The mirror wall (right hand side) and the passage way.

Still way up to go to the top. Again, I did not take the pictures of the metal stairs. Scary!
