Cash can be readily withdrawn from 7-11 everywhere, just like in Japan. Unfortunately my uk bank had an issue with me trying an overseas withdrawal. Occasionally foreign transactions flag up as 'fraud' and I'd have to contact them to sort it out. Even more unfortunately, I got through to the India call centre instead of the call centre in Cheshire. Endless stupid questions and when they did not know how to sort the problem, they hung up on me! It was a bit like those good old BD redemption days.
luckily, I had unlimited internet data and could use Skype. I was some who connected to the call centre in Sweden?! and the problem was only sorted out more than 30 mins later!
Hmmm... Best to have bring more cash in the future and use credit cards where possible.
