      This is very cool.

Initially every other day NRT-JFK till they get more 77Ws.

I might start taking this flight to JFK ( when traveling with my kids ) because:

      1. new a/c

      2. prefer NRT to FRA

      Without kids, I prefer A345..

Delay in Flight Commencement of the New Boeing 777-300ER Aircraft and Change of Launch Date for New Brand and Service

Thank you for your continued loyal support of ANA.

We deeply regret to inform you that the new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will not commence operation on Saturday, February 20, 2010 as scheduled, due to delay in development of Premium Economy seats.

The launch date for our new brand, "Inspiration of Japan" and the new services that was scheduled to be introduced along with the flight commencement of our new aircraft has also been changed due to this reason.

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may cause and kindly ask for your understanding at this time.
        Classy that they actually apologise

          - Economy Class (112 seats⇒139 seats)

Considering that they also supply SQ's 388 seats.

Actually it looks like SQ, CO, and NH planes will be delayed because of this problem!

Singapore Air A380 Delivery Delayed on Lack of Seats (Update2)
                    February 05, 2010, 01:16 AM EST
                    MORE FROM BUSINESSWEEK

Feb. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Singapore Airlines Ltd. will delay the introduction of its 11th Airbus SAS A380 after Koito Industries Ltd. failed to supply new seats on time.
All Nippon Airways Co. and Continental Airlines Inc. planes were also delayed because of late seats from Koito, a Toyota Motor Corp. affiliate. The axle in a new seat design failed a safety test in Japan, said Yoichiro Kuroiwa, a spokesman for the Yokohama, Japan-based seat-maker.
“If airline seats don’t meet any sort of requirement, they’re illegal and have to be fixed,” said Hans Weber, president of San Diego-based Tecop International, who has advised the U.S. Federal Aviation Authority. “It’s black and white -- you either meet the requirement or you don’t.”
Suppliers’ home countries generally take the lead role in assessing new parts, such as seats. No one was immediately available for comment at Japan’s civil aviation bureau.

Japanese companies often hold cross-shareholdings in their partners.....This is the same company that T Boone Pickens tried to take over!
