    Nope no faster way, and I've also heard its BIS

    If you want a faster way, you could look at AA program which offers Lifetime Gold (equiv to Silver) for 1mm and ALL miles are included. Otherwise you could take up Asiana which has 1mm for Lifetime Gold on all *A or Continental which is 2mm for lifetime Gold, however 1mm can be had for lifetime silver or whatever they like to call it

      Those are called BIS (Butt In Seat) miles. It only counts actual flight miles on UA metal, partner flights and codeshare flights don't count.

      The only way to get it faster is to fly UA metal more. United Express flights are considered the same as UA flights.
