  • Fare prices changes?

Hello there! I've always wondered how SQ changes their fare prices, do they change depending on how many people that look at a certain booking? I remember last year we were just about to book a flight when the price suddenly went up, does anyone know why?

It's not necessarily based on how many people are looking through the website, per-se. Airline fares are, like any other product, determined by supply and demand. The changes you see are most likely the changes in availability of fare classes. There are a number of different "buckets" (designated by a letter) each at a different fare. The airline uses "nesting" and "revenue management" to sell only a specific number of seats from each bucket. If fares go up, it is usually as a result of seats in a lower bucket selling out, meaning only higher buckets are left. That's the general idea at least...
