  • LHR T5 opening day

27 March 3:45am - coming from the drop-off point into the departures level 3

The first line pax come across - the SSCI machines

Showing the first flight BA302 to CDG

SSCI check-in machines not operational yet

    A bag drop desk

The FIRST check-in area near row J (the right hand side)

So much for the talk about pax continually going forward. Here are some of the bag drop desks where pax have to move sideways and then forward

Terminal staff queueing to go through security

One of the two (?) sculptures in the departure level

Some (but not all I think) of the SSCI stations have somewhere for a BA person to stand

          The Cisco VOIP phones used

          The lounge (landside) for kiddies

The area just past security (the south security point on the right) - the door for direct access to the Concorde Room is in the middle of the picture

                      The Silver Bar

The flight displays were broken (they all showed as "wait in lounge") so announcements had to be made about flights boarding

                      That's all, folks!
