SQ’s impending SEA launch did not scare DL off. It was rather DL’s decision to move all Tokyo operations from NRT to HND, something that DL has been aiming for ever since HND re-opened for international flights in 2010. Since 2011, DL has cut off 15 routes from NRT.

With that however, limited slot availability in HND for US carriers make it virtually impossible for DL to operate HND-SIN, and DL has also stated that their NRT-SIN route has been under financial pressure as of late. DL, being very conservative as they usually are, never intended to launch SEA-SIN.
