  • TR713 (ATH-SIN) delayed two days, passengers stranded

    https://www.todayonline.com/singapor...zQOV0JjzPnLRBE

According to Scoot, here’s what happened:

First disembarkation: Operational considerations arising from equipment limitations took longer than expected to resolve, as such, passengers were asked to disembark the Boeing 787

Second disembarkation: Passengers boarded the plane when the issue was resolved, but had to leave a second time because the crew’s flight time limits were exceeded and the plane had to be grounded

Third disembarkation: The following day (Wednesday), as the flight was about to pushback from the departure gate, flight approval was rescinded

The airline then decided to send a ferry flight from Singapore to Athens to fetch the affected TR713 passengers back to Singapore, which is now scheduled for 1.05pm local time on Thursday.
9V-OFI is the aircraft in ATH.

Scoot is ferrying 9V-OFH to ATH as TR5001. Even that was delayed; initially supposed to depart at 0600 but ended up departing SIN at 1219.
Singapore Airlines - A great way to fly...

What a horrible and nightmarish situation for any passengers to be in. I can't imagine the frustration passengers must have gone through with the 2 day delay.

seems like Scoot have itself to blame somewhat for the extended delay ad the first instance it stated that after the initial tech delay the passengers were boarded and then the operating crew hours were going to be expired and the crew culd not operate the flight - but this could have been anticipated a few hours before, and secondly the 2nd delay occurred when the departure flight clearance was cancelled, which Scoot ground agents or station manager should have filed in a fresh departure time application. This still reflect poorly of Scoot handling of delays as a fully owned subsidiary of SIA and of the senior management team of whom are from SIA including its CEO Mr Lik Hsin Lee who then spoke of how Scoot will change to a better budget carrier etc. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news...ot-ceo-9231228

A "badly run" airline since 2012. It is not the first time such a situation happened to passengers of Scoot.

Generally passengers are not angry about the delay, everyone wants to have a safe flight and would like to arrive safely at their destination. It is the lack of communication from the airline updating passengers on the situation, is frustrating.

And dont know why Scoot SIN decided to send another aircraft from SIN to Athens to carry the affected pax back? The original plane "operating equipment limitations" were fixed already withn the day. It was during the second boarding that the crew operating time limits have expired, which again Scoot did not aniticpate in advance? And on the 3rd time, it was delayed again as the flight approval was rescinded. The plane itself was in flying condition. Why did Scoot spend thousands just to send a plane and crew over wasting money and fuel when Scoot only need to send a fresh operating crew to Athens to fly the plane back? Something is very amiss with Scoot. And till now Soot CEO havent even address this 3 days delay.
