I had the 'pleasure' of using T5 from T3 (SQ SIN-LHR).

It took me 20mins from landing, getting to take the bus before arriving at T5 Flight Connections. Once there, despite the sign, it is still not that clear.

Why can I use IRIS if I then go to do a domestic connection?

There was sign for fast track but not sign for BA fast track. I asked and was told to go to the very end.

Upon arrival at BA lounge near Gate 1, I had to queue for shower. There was no shower attendant to take my name and to call/announce when a shower cubicle is ready. Instead we had to wait. 10mins later ....

The shower cubicle is very small and no where to place my bags. The cubicle temperature is set too hot. The only plus point is an adjustable radio channel and volume.

I then proceeded to Gate 1 for my flight to ABZ and it was two sets of checks - one for ID to prove that it was me and then a BP check to get on the plane....

Overall timing from landing at T3 to T5 BA lounge is 1 hr.

      I am not that impressed!

Did you check bags, SQFAN? If not, that could be considered one bit of good news, given what's happening with the baggage system.

My colleague, who is due to present at our workshop in ZRH today, is late due to his flight from T5 being delayed by more than an hour.

Thanks goodness with my experience of travelling light- it was a roll-on plus rucksack. Phew...

Now that you mentioned it, for bags screening, some of the personnel there does not even know how to help to speed things up...she was just standing there......

The good news? Of yes,.....when boarding LHR-ABZ, a cherry cabin crew gretted me. "Welcome onboard- how did you ike T5?" and I was given a round chocolate with 'T5' on it.

When I asked the cabin crew about their view on T5, she said it took them while trying to get into the T5 this morning. He he he.

Another glitch, my plane refueler came in late as he could not get the authorisation to get thro some secure area. So we were 30mins later than planned.

Ugh, today I met someone who tried to connect through LHR T5 with checked-in luggage. Must have been a real awsome trip by his account

BRITISH Airways is sending thousands of suitcases by truck to a warehouse in Milan because its staff at Heathrow are unable to cope with the backlog of at least 20,000 bags that missed their flights from Terminal 5.

Domestic passengers' bags are being driven to Manchester, and to Scotland, where they will be sorted, screened and dispatched to their owners.

On Friday a representative from BA is coming to my company to do a presentation on T5. I wonder what he or she will talk about? Fortunately, I'll be back in our office to ask some questions.

I'll try not to be lulled by the drinks into a feeling of gentleness.

I wonder if sending them to Italy won't make matters worse

Let's see... They could take 2 weeks to sort thru all the bags, then arrange to fly the sorted luggage back to the UK on AZ, just by chance on the day that AZ ceases operations...

Looks like there are still issues with the baggage in this interesting case... not sure why she was arrested because her bag went missing?!

                        http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7329817.stm

Naomi Campbell has been released on bail pending further inquiries after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

The supermodel had been held at Heathrow Airport following an alleged incident at Terminal 5.

A BAA spokeswoman at Heathrow Airport said: "Police today boarded a British Airways plane and removed a passenger."

According to Ms Campbell's spokeswoman, the model had checked in two bags but was then told that one had been lost.

Ms Campbell is reported to have been handcuffed on board the aircraft, which was believed to be heading for America.

                        'Forcibly eject'

Spokeswoman Annabel Fox said: "Naomi was flying to Los Angeles for a memorial service on Thursday.

"She arrived at Heathrow Terminal 5 in plenty of time, checked her two bags in and was told they would make the flight.

"Once on the plane she was told one bag could not be found and was missing.

"BA decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight and then called the police to forcibly eject her from the flight.

"She was taken to the Heathrow police station and released on police bail. So far as we are aware BA have still failed to offer any explanation as to why her bag went missing at Terminal 5."

One passenger on board the flight told the BBC how he overheard the alleged incident.

"We heard some screaming, an upset person in first class," he said.

"They closed the curtains, the screaming went on for quite some time. They brought people on, they escorted the person off and the pilot apologised.

"I had seen her get on the plane [looking] very positive."

Ms Campbell was discovered at the age of 15 and was the first black model to appear on the covers of Time magazine and both French and British Vogue.

No, it was because of her behavior after she found out her bag was missing -- crucial intermediate step there.

Let me get this straight... She was an outbound passenger. How would BA and the passenger have known that her baggage went missing before she even reached her final destination??
