  • FRA Connection

In November I'll be taking LH439 DFW-FRA and then connect to TG921 FRA-BKK. The LH flight ex-DFW arrives FRA 9:05 am and then the TG flight leaves at 2:10 pm. I will fly in FC for both flights and they are on the same PNR. Can LH @ DFW check my bags through to the TG flight? Do I have to clear immigration at FRA? Will I have to change terminals at FRA? Which lounge will I be entitled to use in FRA?

Apologize for the multiple connections since I seldomly connect at FRA?

A slight belated welcome to SQTalk!
I never done an exact routing as yours, but I have done something like SFO-FRA on LH and FRA-SIN on SQ. I think the situation in terms of connection in FRA would be the same.

First of all, you should be able to check-through your bags at DFW all the way to BKK. Just make sure your tags will show FRA and BKK.
I am not too sure where your LH will arrive at FRA, whether in Terminal A, B or C, or even the faraway parking (which the bus will take you at the basement of Terminal B). TG uses Terminal B I believe, Gate 40 something if it has not changed. But in anycase, you don't need to clear immigration for your connection. If you arrive in Terminal A, then you can take the SkyTrain to Terminal B. If you arrive in Terminal C, just walk follow the sign Terminal B.
If you are bused from remote parking, you will drop off in Terminal B, and just look for the escalator that take you to Departure Terminal B.

Since you mention that you are in FC for both segments, the lounge access in FRA slightly different. If you are on TG F, as far as I remember, you will use the LH SEN lounge. It's in the mezzanine of Terminal B. Near a transfer desk.
Since you arrive on LH F, in this case, you can go to LH FCL, even though you are departing on TG. There are two FCL in Terminal B. But I am sure you can find more updated info because I have not been to FRA since the summer. There is one near the casino, which last time was closed for renovation. And the other FCL is on the higher floor of Terminal B where the gate 24-28 are.
If you are adventurous enough, you can go to Terminal A, and find the FCL there which will require you to clear immigration. (Note: you can not use First Class Terminal since it's strictly for LH departing pax only)

Let us know if you have further questions!
    Enjoy your flights.

If you're on the same PNR, then LH will be able to thru check you direct to BKK. You do not have to clear immigration and customs. There is no set place (Terminal 1, gates A, B or C) where your DFW flight will arrive at. Both LH and TG uses T1 in FRA. Though big and confusing, getting in and out is easy. just follow the signs.

If you are travelling on TG, unfortunately you can only use the LH Senator First lounges and not the First Terminal. But since you are arriving on LH in F, you *might* be able to go to LH F terminal. But I am unsure on that.

As I mentioned before, LH FC Terminal is for departure pax only on LH metal. Thus, the OP who will departs on TG, will not have access to it, even though arriving on LH F. Remember that the pax will get a ride on that Mercedes or Porsche directly to the LH plane or gate.

By arriving on LH F, the OP can have access to LH First Class Lounge to wait for his/her TG flight to BKK. FCL is definitely much much better than LH SEN Lounge that TG uses for its F pax.

SQ LPP is correct. As an arriving LH F pax the OP has access to the FCLs but not the FCT. The B FCL is not so good. A one is nice. Even if you don't get an A gate it may be worth the walk over to stretch legs and fill in some time during the long connection. FCL is certainly much nicer than the SEN lounges (or UA IFL which OP also has access to).

Another quick question. I am almost certain LH will give me my TG BP at DFW. But say for some strange reasons they cannot, are there any transfer desk airside at FRA where I can get the TG BP or do I have to go landside?

I believe there is a transfer desk at Terminal A as well as Terminal B for StarAlliance airlines.
One time, after arriving on LH F from SFO, I went straight to LH FCL since it was a long layover. Showed my LH F BP as arrival proof, and showed my confirmed booking for SQ flight. I picked up my SQ BP at the Gate just an hour before scheduled departure time.

AFAIK transfer desk is for LH and integrated airlines (ie LO/LX/OS/JP/OU) only. UA and AC have ticket desks at which you can also check in. Otherwise, check in is only at the gate. I could be wrong with that, but that ties in with my experiences through FRA.

Note you can access FCL with your arrival BP.
