Default Using KF miles for flight bookings

I have a negative experience with using KF miles for flight bookings on the Singapore Airlines web page. The option to reduce the total price by using KF miles is only possible in combination with a credit card and not with iDeal payments (which is a widely used payment method in the Netherlands). SIA do not charge a booking fee by paying with iDeal, but they do by paying with a credit card since a couple of years (for AMS departures). This means the customer is forced to pay a booking fee by using KF miles on flights departing from AMS. Ridiculous in my opinion. Are there similar experiences in other countries?
