    YVR-ORD, lunch service, late August 2008

    Choice of a salad (IIRC it was a chef's salad, but I"m not certain) or a hot pastrami & cheese sandwich on rye. Sandwich was served with a side couscous salad, and later in flight a warm oatmeal raisin cookie was served (with milk for those who so wanted). The "pastrami" struck me as more like corned beef, but it may have just been an off day.

      Comments: Really shocked to see how p.s. service standard has declined so significantly from the inaugural flight that I took. The meals are identical to business class, and there is almost no reason for a first class to exist. What happened to the soup, salad cart, and dessert and cheese trolley.
