T2 will be utilised for the regional flights for SQ and all MI flights.

T1 is indeed becoming a budget terminal in the day time where all the Jetstar, Air Asia just keeps coming in like flies throughout the day. But T1 really becomes messed up when the QF and the BA flights starts pouring in at night.
Cathay is also another player in T1. With 8 flights a days and interesting to see what happen at night on CMB bound flight.

There are insufficient departure gates for all SQ flights in T3.

SQ regional flights are more than their non regional flights I suppose?

Yep, with all the complaints T1 is getting in the press. Long queues, overcrowding, long waiting time etc etc...

I'd expected them to move the LCCs rather than the premium airlines actually. It's like T1 is becoming an unofficial BT

No other places to move the LCCs to. Jetstar wants to stay with Qantas, Air Asia set up its ground operations in T1. And BT is too small too handle the influx of all budget airlines.

Ak alone have abt over 20 flights a day operating in and out of T1 - and this is set to increase in near future.

Vietnam Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines just moved to T3. Sri Lankan Airlines would be making the move soon too!
