He's known for making the most of every possible marketing opportunity, just like any CEO worth his salt should be.

As for being well known (presuming the suggestion is he does it regularly) standing at the bar during take off.......well, I live in the UK where he is regularly in the news, and this is the first time I have heard that one (and I am quite sure there are people out there who would have a field day if he did), so I would respectfully suggest that's bollox.

He is very highly thought of in the UK, it's just the BA lot who don't like him.

                  • According to the 24 May investor briefing, 10 777-200s will leave the fleet during the current fiscal year (ending 31 March 2011). Four have been sold to Transaero and six are being leased to Royal Brunei. There was no indication of specific registration numbers.

And (therefore) 9V-SRD and 9V-SRE are the other two for Transaero.......

                            • Just out of curiosity, are the a/c stored at VCV still on SQ's books, or are they a/c which have been returned to their leasing companies?

Still part of the SQ fleet. When planes revert to their lessors, they get a new registration.
