Sorry about that. In amends, we will change the name of the event to Phaleesy Durian Feast in your honour. At least you will here in our thoughts and in spirit during the feast.

The other alternative is to buy a ticket here in time for the feast. I will give my support for your trip....i.e.moral support is the least I can do for a retiree.

God must have been a ship owner, he placed the raw materials far from where they are needed and covered two-thirds of the earth with water...

Took me a while to find my DO thread. I had originally thought the naughty Ah Peks (looks at Kapitan and B727) were 'moderated'.

LionCity, I can't make it for the DO. I am stuck in Bournemouth working to pay my mortgage. I also forgot to eat mangosteens when I was in SIN. I prefer mangosteens to durians.

Hey! I didn't know the official Durian Do thread had opened up! I guess this is what you'd call a soft opening

THE PAH LEE SI HO JIAK LUI LIAN DO:

                        PART 1:

The worm was already dead....resulting from eating pah lee si ho jiak lui lian!

We met at the lobby of Quality Hotel and we have two Mrs SQTalkers and two up and coming SQTalkers Jr that will take over the reins of two Well Known Papa SQTalkers when they grow up and they were born just weeks apart. As usual, I was smelling a business deal and try my hand at something new ie match making....hoping to collect "ang pows" two to three decades later.

We proceed to the lui lian place in Balestier. Cat Mountain King aka CMK (the stronger variety) was going at an $16 per kg and the silky D24 at $10 per kg. But the more expensive lui lian's cost was mitigated by the smaller seeds.

The initial CMKs were not the best until we had our SQTalk Lui Lian specialist in form of kyo specially selected the CMK and that proved to be last but best fruit of the DO. Thanks kyoee! You can sell Lui Lian now lah.

To balance off the "heatness" emitting from the Lui Lian in our stomach, we got the Bang Kid fruit (or Mangosteen for the unknowledgeable Ang Mo educated ones). However, those proved to be quite disappointing. Quite a few of the fruities were bad as found by the Kapitan. The shells were too thick.
