Default Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

Hi Guys,

In response to my previous thread regarding Kuala Lumpur hotels, I decided to stay at the new Grand Hyatt, minutes from KLCC. I am very impressed with this property, lobby on the 38th floor with 360 degree views of the KL skyline! Some of you may not be too pleased with the dual lift system as one must travel to the 38th floor from the groud level before being able to access the rooms on the lower floors. I'm typing this from my room on the 26th floor and it reminds me a teeny bit of the Hyatt Regency at TST in Hong Kong. I have plenty of photos to come and I will upload them when I get back on Tuesday evening!

Stay tuned!

P.S. HUGE AL' I listened!

Hey, I wasn't telling you to stay there. Rather, I just thought I'd offer up an alternative as it's brand spanking new. Glad you enjoyed it. Look forward to the pics and your opinions.

Yes it's not my favourite system as I have stated a few times. However, I am currently at one of my favourite Hotels, the Park Hyatt Hamburg, and this has a dual lift system.

PH Seoul also has them. Can get very confusing after a few bottles at Timber House.

I've heard wonderful things about that property. Your detailed review, MAN Flyer?

All richly deserved, it's a fabulous hotel. Just to add to the great things about it, breakfast at weekends is on until 2pm.

Apologies for the delay, here are the photos!

The first sight when you enter the room.

Another angle

The desk and TV which rotates outwards and swivels so it can face the bed.

My biggest pet peeve in hotel rooms is the chairs they use, some are dreadful. This one, thankfully, is not!

The bathroom, apologies for the horrible angle.

With a flick of a button, the glass can be made opaque!

More to come!

The sink area on the far side of the room.

Bathroom amenities from June Jacobs. Never heard of them.

Walk in closet located behind the in front of the bathroom.

From another angle!

Complimentary snacks that I tore through!

Main counter unit.

The usual.

The most slick teapot I have ever seen!

Awesome JBL dock, got plenty of use from me!

The next set of photos will be of the lobby + reception and the club lounge.

Here are the lobby photos!

As soon as you walk out of the elevator and turn left you will see the check in counters and this security guard that insisted in being in all of my photos.

If you turn your head right you will see the lobby lounge.

Check in counters from another angle. Note the standardized use of VAIO laptops.

If you walk past the counters you will see this elevator which takes one downstairs to Thirty Eight, the in house restaurant and bar.

Walking past the elevator one will meet these cubicles, all equipped with international power ports.

The inside of the said cubicles.

Further on in the same direction is the other side of the lobby lounge with the restaurant below.

Club photos to follow.
